Joe Sakic reaches a milestone !

) scored the 600th goal of his career in tonight's game against the Detroit Red Wings on a feed by John-Michael Liles. We played some good, fundamental hockey tonight. When you do that the goals always follow, the happy player commented.
A native of Canada, Joe Sakic was originally drafted to the NHL by the Colorado Avalanche in the 1st round of the 1987 entry draft. He has appeared in 1279 NHL games during his career, notching 600 goals and adding 946 assists along with 572 penalty minutes. The 39 year old center has played 42 games with the Colorado Avalanche this season, totalling 26+31=57 with 30 PIM.
